peruse the Internet for a news article or research institute publication with a graph or two. Copy and paste one graph into the discussion board. Remember to fully cite your sources.

What is the measure they use for each variable in the graph (i.e., ordinal, nominal, or interval/ratio)?

What is helpful about the graph?

What might be improved?

Is anything misleading?

Is the presentation of the graph in the best format (i.e., pie chart, histogram)?

Note: according to your readings, some formats are preferred for different measures of data. For example, a histogram is used for interval/ratio data.

Note: Make sure you identify all the variables in the graph. Many times, students miss that there are two or more variables. Variables are anything that varies and is measured.
