Simplify in fewer sentences: To prepare the data for analysis in the General Perception and Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence study, several essential steps were undertaken, including data cleaning, recoding, and computing. Initially, the dataset comprising 220 completed surveys was reviewed for completeness and accuracy. Any incomplete responses or inconsistencies, such as duplicate entries or irrelevant data, were identified and addressed to ensure the integrity of the dataset. This process involved removing any surveys that did not meet the criteria for inclusion, such as those with insufficient responses or those that were submitted by individuals outside the target demographic. Following the data cleaning process, recoding was performed on categorical variables to facilitate analysis. For instance, responses to Likert scale items were converted into numerical values to allow for statistical computations. Additionally, qualitative responses from the open-ended questions were coded thematically to identify common patterns and sentiments regarding participants' experiences with AI, their hopes and worries, and ethical considerations in social work practice. This thematic coding involved categorizing responses into distinct themes, which would later be analyzed to draw meaningful insights from the qualitative data.
