Question:
A cylinder/piston loaded with a linear spring contains saturated moist air at 120 kPa, 0.1 m3 volume and also 0.01 kg of liquid water, all at ambient temperature 20C. The piston area is 0.2 m2, and the spring constant is 20 kN/m this cylinder is attached by a valve to a line flowing dry air at 800 kPa, 80C, the valve is opened, and air flows into the cylinder until the pressure reaches 200 kPa, at which point the temperature is 40C. Determine the relative humidity at the final state, the mass of air entering the cylinder and the work done during the process.
