Gallup also asked survey participants if they have ever eaten at a restaurant and left no tip at all because of poor service. Almost half (46 percent) of those surveyed said they have done so.
Because it seems that whether or not a person has left a restaurant without tipping might be related to a person's generosity in terms of recommended tip percentage, the survey investigated this possible relationship. Using the poll results, the column percentages at the top of page 67 can be obtained for each of the categories "Yes, have left without tipping" and "No, have not left without tipping."
