The tribe is currently experiencing severe poverty with no health care, malnutrition, no clean drinking water, and no system of education. The tribe is too isolated and unknown to receive private aid and does not qualify for government assistance. The people of Caos have heard that you are enrolled in IBS09 at CHU and have specifically asked you to prepare a plan to re-structure their society. Facts: Community Name: Caos Population: 900 people (53% female, 47% male) Average Age: 30 (30% under 18 years old.) Resources: River loaded with fish, jungle full of trees, plants, and all sorts of wildlife. Electricity: Gas generator with enough fuel for 6 hours of electricity/day for one year. Currency: Each adult has the equivalent of US$100 for a total of US$6,000. Trade: Boats from a developed city 15 hours away stop by to trade goods every week. Culture: The community is open to new ideas and believes in equal opportunity for all. Health: At any one time, 15% are too sick to work due to illness from water parasites. Many brew a sugar-cane alcohol and public intoxication is a frequent problem. Technology: The homes are wired for light and each has a refrigerator and Direct TV. Education: The people are literate and have the equivalent of a high school diploma.
