A very large fraction of the town€™s expenditure on public safety is related to the mall; the mall management pays a yearly fee to the township that covers these expenditures. That town€™s data were removed from the data base and the remaining data were reanalyzed by Minitab. A scatterplot is shown.
a. Explain why removing this one point from the data changed the regression line so substantially.
b. Does the revised regression line appear to conform to the opinion of the ­taxpayers€™ group in Exercise 11.76?
