(a) Does the square ring fall faster in the orientation shown (Fig. 7.19), or when rotated 45o about an axis coming out of the page? Find the ratio of the two terminal velocities. If you dropped the loop, which orientation would it assume in falling?

(b) How long does is take a circular ring to cross the bottom of the magnetic field, at its (changing) terminal velocity?
