Impromptu Activity: In small groups write as many impromptu topics as you can in 15 to 20 minutes.

Topics can be humorous or serious (keep them clean) and should be general enough to relate to everyone in your group or class. When finished, check your topics for clarity and spelling then write or type each on a thin strip of paper. Exchange topics with another group or give your topics to your instructor or seminar leader.

Here are some sample topics to get you started:

a. If you had a chance to re-do something in your life and do it differently this time, what would it be and why?

b. Should children be allowed to believe in such things as Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and the Easter Bunny? Give an example.

c. Other than your hometown, name a favorite place (state, country, etc.) that you have visited.

What made is so special?

d. What is your favorite food to eat or cook? Why?

e. What do you plan to do differently raising your children than your parents did in raising you?

f. What three pieces of advice would you give an incoming Freshman for next semester?

g. What makes a good manager? Be specific.

h. What is one (or some) of your pet peeves? Why?

i. What would you like to be remembered for?

j. Is it ever O.K. to tell white lies?

k. How do you feel about your spouse/significant other making more money than you?

l. If you had $555,000 and could use it only to establish your own business that had to succeed for at least two years, what would it be and why?
