5. Report on a Proposal’s Process from Initial Request to Winning Bid.

Some local companies (engineering firms, ad agencies, and others) attempt to win contracts through submitting proposals. Your task in this exercise is to interview someone who is or was involved in preparing a proposal in one of those firms. Your goal is to trace the proposal’s process: from initial request for a proposal to final selection of the winning bidder. Not all firms use identical procedures or formats; thus, you and your classmates will each learn different formats for the respective firms in your area. (1) Present a brief written report on the results of your investigation, and (2) on the option of your instructor offer a brief oral report based on the written statement.
