Recall recent situations in which you used each of the following evasive approaches: benevolent lying, equivocating, and hinting. Write an anonymous description of each situation on a separate sheet of paper. Submit the cases to a panel of “judges” (most likely fellow students) who will evaluate the morality of each, using the criteria of justifiable motives and desirable effects. Invite the judges to consider how they would feel if they knew someone had used these evasive approaches with them.
