The Global Health Expenditure Database provides comparable data on health care-related spending in most countries in the world. Access their Data Explorer here:

Choose the following indicators: Health expenditure data S Financing schemes S Current health expenditure by financing schemes and click “Next.” Then choose a country, select all years in the period of 2000–2018 and choose % General government expenditure (GGE). Finally, click “View data and build report” on the left side. What can you tell about the evolution of the expenditure on health care in the country you chose? Talk about the importance of the government in health care programs.
