Each student should use a sheet of paper and a paperclip to construct a “whirlybird” such as the one shown here. Instructions can be found on the Internet using the search term “make a whirlybird from paper.” Each whirlybird should be dropped from a height of six feet and a stopwatch should be used to record the time it takes to reach the floor. For each whirlybird, record the time it takes to fall and the length of its wings. Test for a correlation between the times and the lengths of wings.
