A cable company closed its door-to-door sales department and released all employees of that department after settling a discrimination complaint by one of the department’s employees. The employee’s mother, sister, and two close friends also had been employed in the department. Eighteen months later, the company resumed its door-to-door sales but refused to rehire three of the former employees connected with the employee who had previously sued.
