A sharp throated nozzle is shown in Fig. 8.6. The flow entering the throat is sonic. The exit to throat area ratio is 3 and the throat makes an angle of 45° with the horizontal. Determine the Mach number at the exit. Wave reflection may be ignored.

The flow may be assumed to be quasi 1D, except near the corner. Also determine the exit Mach number for the same area ratio, if the throat were smooth.
