A circle of \(100 \mathrm{~mm}\) diameter is scribed on an aluminium plate before it is loaded as shown in Fig. 14.30. After stressing the circle deforms into an ellipse. Determine the lengths of major and minor axes of the ellipse and there orientation.

For aluminium \(\mathrm{E}=10 \mathrm{GPa}\) and \(\mathrm{v}=0.32\).
