It’s making the world safe from rapacious piano teachers.” The Federal Trade Commission alleged that the 22,000-member Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) implemented an ethics code that forbade members from actively recruiting each others’ students, and that some MTNA affiliates prohibited members from charging lesson fees lower than the community average or offering free lessons or scholarships.
