13.3 This exercise is an introduction to the R2WinBUGS package that runs WinBUGS from R (Sturtz et al. 2005). R2WinBUGS is an R add-on package which needs to be installed in R. The advantage of using R2WinBUGS rather than WinBUGS directly is that script files can be created to run the entire analysis process of data manipulation, analysis and displaying the results.

a. Open a new script file using RStudio. Load the R2WinBUGS library by typing

Change the working directory to an area where the files created by this exercise can be stored, for example,
