See Figure P12–7. The shaft rotating at 480 rpm carries a spur gear C having 50 teeth with a diametral pitch of 5. The teeth are of the 20°, full-depth, involute form. The gear receives 50 hp from a pinion directly below it. Compute the torque delivered to the shaft and the tangential and radial forces exerted on the shaft by the gear.
