For example, new electric vehicles with a battery capacity of over \(16 \mathrm{kWh}\) and a sales price of under \(\mathrm{C} \$ 150,000\) are eligible for a rebate of up to \(\mathrm{C} \$ 14,000\). The Ford Focus Electric qualifies as an eligible vehicle. Its 2017 sales price starts at about C\$29,000 compared to about \(\mathrm{C} \$ 16,000\) for the gasoline-powered model. The Ontario government also offers a rebate of up to \(\mathrm{C} \$ 1,000\) for the purchase and installation of a Level 2 home charging station (full charge in 4 to 6 hours).
