1. How much time would the new layout save?

For over 75 years, Creative Castings Ltd. (CCL) has manufactured stoves for home use. In recent years, with increasing energy prices, according to Arvind Jaitley, president of Creative Castings, the company's sales have been triple. The major products are the CC I, the CC II, the CC III, and the CC IV. In addition, Creative Castings Ltd produces a large range of products that have been designed to be used with one of their four stoves. These products include warming shelves, surface thermometers, stovepipes, adapters, stove gloves, trivets, chimneys, and heat shields. It was Mr. Jaitley's belief that the company's wide assortment of prod- ucts was a major contributor to the increased sales. The CC III outsold all other stoves by a big margin. The heat output and available accessories were ideal for the typical home. The CC stove also had a number of outstanding features that made it one of the most attractive and heat efficient stoves on the market. These features, along with the accessories, resulted in expanding sales and prompted Mr. Jaitley to build a new factory to manufacture CC III stoves.
