Response answer the response to my classmates if you agree or disagree with his her statement why or why not _now in this present day and time it seems more that the police are assisting in the crime rather than fighting it. police have become more of the enemy then the protector. it seems like anytime we hear something about the police in the media its negative and its always toward the minorities . as an African American woman raising an African American boy off of course the police image in my eyes have changed. even seeing a friend I grew up with we went to elementary school together seeing what she went through when her daughter's father Akai Gurley was murdered and the cop who did it will face no jail time. its heartbreaking, its frustrating and sad to know that we as a community have to be afraid of the same one who vows to protect and serve. sandra bland , eric garner both killed by the police and they tried to cover it. these reasons here these unfortunate situations hurt the image of the police. no matter how many statements and ways they try to flip it we as the people on the outside looking in are thinking the most obvious and we are no longer feeling safe to call the police for help at times because of the fear of well if this ends bad me or another person can end up hurt or dead its just not a good image we have of the police and the things happening today.
