Describe its content and suggest a meaning in a report. Nightmare the painting by henry Fuseli called the nightmare made in 1781 from oil and canvas. in this painting i see a women lying on a bed and right on top of her there is some creature that looks like it’s a demon. In the background everything looks dark with the read curtain a horse head coming toward the women. The picture looks dark to me excluding the women part it seems lighter and brighter is. for me this pictures means lot as my point of perspective it represent about this demon creature which it known as incubus this type of creature show up at night to attack the person while dreaming, this demon habitually hold the person’s breath while dreaming, and that could cause the person not be able to speak out load. Also it gives you some allusions like someone is making noises and laughing. This painting describes the women feelings while she’s dreaming she looks like she’s suffering and can barely move. This woman is trying to end her nightmare but nobody is responding to her. When i look at this painting i think that it means something. i think it means how this pure, innocent and young looking woman is being ready to get and strangle while dreaming. i can tell that she’s has no control of the situation and everything happens under the demon’s control. How the woman is lying she might be thinking about too many things and those thoughts and feelings go on and on. How the demon is laying in top of her stomach and chest she must be feeling discomfort while the demon trying to get on her soul. The horns appear in the shadow represents evilness and darkness. the horse in the background looks like it’s kind of a transportation for this demon like it that can carry him from place to another and also he doesn't have mercy i can tell form the smile on its face, while the woman can barely move, stressed, hopeless on her bed page 2:

Nightmare the artwork that i chose is a painting by henry Fuseli called “the nightmare”. It was made in 1781 in the medium of oil and canvas, which is an example of romanticism. The subject of the painting is a young woman about to be sexually assaulted by an incubus. in the composition of the painting also related to colors the background looks dark, and a horse’s head is coming out of a red curtain toward the woman. Compared to the background, the woman’s body is lighter and brighter because she’s pure, innocent and young looking woman who’s being ready to attack by an incubus. From my point of perspective, this picture represents about this demon creature known as incubus. This type of creature shows up at night to attack the person while dreaming. This painting describes the woman’s feelings while she’s dreaming. She looks like she’s suffering and can barely move. This woman is trying to end her nightmare but nobody is responding to her. The style of this painting is Romanic, characteristic of medieval, the great revolution and depression. The technique that the artist used in this painting, he identified lines in the woman’s dress. The lines in the woman’s dress make her body parts as clear as she almost naked. The texture in this painting looks smooth and soft. In the top of the painting we can see much of textures as in the bottom of the painting, because it’s the contrast between dark and light. The dark represents evilness as the horns appear in the shadow and the light represents freedom. From perspective and foreshortening, the painting is flat but there is a sense of depth between the top and the bottom. Fantasy vs real world, as were going down the painting is getting clearer with the textures; it’s getting lighter and away from allusions and dreams world. i can tell that she has no control of the situation and everything happens under the demon’s control. How the woman is lying she might be thinking about too many things and those thoughts and feelings go on and on. How the demon is laying in top of her stomach and chest she must be feeling discomfort while the demon trying to get on her soul while the woman can barely move, stressed, hopeless on her bed.
