In this report, I would thank the professor for this practical course. At this moment, I understand why the professor didn’t explain each point in details because I knew he had seven groups and each team has critical thinking to complete its project. I have learned a lot of things during this semester. The most important thing is the experience in a real project and following steps to achieve the project objectives. In our project, we have communicated with our sponsor to solve problem in information system environment (IT help desk tier III) that gives me more confidence in real life. The sponsor for our project was Mr. Wayne Rose and his position chief information officer at BSU, which is the highest position in information technology department that gives our team more knowledge in IT project field. During this semester, I have learned how to create a charter, business case, analysis documentation, project status report, and project presentation. In additional, I have worked on IT help desk tier project with a group that gave me more experience how to complete each phase on time with other people while other group members have other duties in this semester, so I had challenges of doing each phase together but we have used phone and email to keep our work updated. However, we have learned from each other during working together and got feedback from the group members. However, working with group might cause conflicts between our ideas. In this course, I have used Microsoft project management software for the first time that makes me familiar about keep the project on track, also organize and complete the project in a timely. In this project, we have divided the tasks regarding the project time and requirements. Also we have discussed with the project sponsor then we established the timeline depends on IT needs that offered a guide for the team how the project will process. In the context, I have used the meeting minutes for the first time to record what was done and agenda with brief description for tasks each meeting. During three months, we have presented four presentations that developed my presentation skill that increased my confidence when I explain my project to audience. I was nervous at the first presentation, but after that I have increased my confidence to be relax. In our presentation, we made a plan for a time limit, so that help us to make connection between our points to make the points very clear within the time limit. There is another thing I have learned from this class that communicate with other groups in different projects that provided me with other ideas and approaches to complete each project that means I do not follow one approach to build any project but I have to select the best approach to manage my project while other projects have other requirements and time to complete the project. In our project, I have learned how to make cost benefits analysis which is important to estimate the project cost that will calculate the benefits and time of the project. Overall, we have completed our project on time that increased my skills, knowledge, and techniques for project management.
