Set the scope in XY mode, the voltage across the resistor will be displayed in the Y direction. The combined voltage will be displayed in the X direction, but since the voltage across the resistor is much smaller voltage across the resistor is much smaller than the voltage across the diode, the diode voltage will be displayed in the X direction.
