The project requires to obtain annual reports for any company in given industry. Then, students are required to analyze key trends in the company’s income statement and balance sheet accounts, to discuss company’ major source and uses of funding, to determine their Liquidity and efficiency. Thus the project develops students business knowledge by requiring the students to understand the drivers of success in a particular industry and to evaluate a particular company’s performance with regards to key issues.
The Projects develops students technique knowledge by requiring that students accurately report the changes that have taken place in the particular company’s financial accounts, understand the underlying causes of changes and understand the relationship among financial statement accounts. The project develops students critical reasoning skills by requiring that students identify an issue which would be particularly important to investors in the industry, assess company performance in regards to those areas and make defend investment recommendations. In addition, the project develops students communication skills by requiring students to prepare concise written reports and to make an oral presentation detailing and defending their analyses and conclusions.
Paper Criteria:
Minimum Requirments A 5-8 page double-spaced paper of an explanation of your findings. Must be on time in the correct format, corrected for spelling and grammar, appropriate materials included and reference to the point and on topic and conclusions must be supported.
- 1 page designated to the Executive summary
- 2 pages summarizing the company how they make money and their customer base.
- 1 page explaining the company’s ratios.
- 1 page answering the questions (Is the company liquid or not and is the company efficient or not?)
