I think it is vital to have a PMI's Code of Ethics because sometimes a project can over look the good of society for the good of the stakeholders or the company. Although the project management team is usually focused on the goals of the stockholders or company, there should be an inert duty to still act in the best interest of society, which the Code of Ethics emphasizes. Another key component is holding other team members accountable to the code of ethics. The code of ethics revolves around the themes of honesty, responsibility, respect, and fairness. Honesty is a must in all practices and communication. Project members have a duty to have accurate information and communicate accurate information to the best of their ability.

I also think disclosure and transparency and key components of the code of ethics. Project management members are required to disclose any conflicts of interest or anything that could potentially be against the code or harmful to anyone involved. Members are also required to be transparent and respectful or any confidentiality that might occur. Overall, a code of ethics is necessary to keep all members on track and maintain integrity.
