0.0 Scope and Organization (Note: This is a 48+ page report with a max. of 60 pages) The group term project requires the development of an "Operations Management Outline" (OMO) for a simulated manufacturing or service organization. The groups are formed by the Instructor/Students and must be communicated to the Instructor within 24 hours from the fourth dass. THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THIS REPORT IS TO: COMPARE THEORY TO PRACTICE The role of each group is similar to that of a group of RESEARCHERS that plan to learn and demonstrate how theory works in actual practice - and to understand the similarities and differences that apply. They are now at the stage where they must complete an OMO, which will help with a 'defence' of the report. The report is compiled to demonstrate to the Course instructor HOW theory compares to practice - from an Operations Management perspective. Students DO NOT play a role of consultants" The entire project is based exclusively on secondary research and observation. There will be no interviews, unsolicited mail, or other interaction with "human participation", therefore, Kwantlen Policy G-27 (Research Involving Human Participation) does not apply to the work for this project. 1.0 Project Themes, Deliverables and Deadlines Each group (2 or 3 persons) should start with a one-page theme proposal (emall to me and copied to the whole Group. This proposal should outline the idea they wish to pursue, and be based on one of the following theme's a. Teaching music b. Identifying which social media platforms hospitals, restaurants, and airline companies should consider Reading to Seniors in Care Facilities d. Teaching/Designing fitness and health programmes e. How best to study/learn- a guide for new or old students attending University 1. What are the future jobs- a comparison between older and recent theories in Operations Management? NOTE: You are responsible for creating a Gantt Chart with all the scheduled timings as the Instructor will NOT chase you for any proposals or drafts. You need to organize, plan, and monitor progress amongst yourselves
