Mex Tech, a company in the tech field has made profits of over $50$ Million in $2023$ and is looking to acquire and purchase another company. They presently have $40\%$ of the market and are looking to acquire another $15\%$ of the market. They have over $500$ staff in $3$ different locations in Canada. The company is doing well financially and otherwise, but the staff does not think that management values its employees and over the past few years there has been a breakdown in communication forcing the staff to unionize. During the Collective Bargaining negotiation process talks have broken down and a Mediator has been brought in to solve the impasse.

The union has requested the following:

Vacation to be capped at $35$ days up to $5$ years and over

The addition of a well staffed and structured wellness center

Opportunities for work from home and flexible work shifts

The addition of Sensitization meetings monthly so staff can know what is happening within the organization as a way for communication to be more forthcoming

A staff manual with additional standard operating procedures for all departments

Discipline to be more positive so that it helps staff to change behavior

Training every $6$ months for all positions

Developmental opportunities at $$1000$ per year

Annual staff bonus tied to profits in excess of projected profits

As the government's representative from the Ministry of Labor, you have been sent in to help both parties resolve this. What are some probing questions that would be asked?
