a$)$ Use dataset allocated to your group only. Datasets are available in a spreadsheet uploaded on

blackboard $($file name: Rainfall Datasets$).$

b$)$ Return period applicable to each dataset is provided in the table below.

c$)$ Use Gumbel's distribution for frequency factors.

d$)$ Label axes and the curves correctly. You may use $log$ scale for intensity $($in $m\frac{m}{h})$ axis.

Time axis in minutes.

e$)$ Use your graph to determine:

i$.$ design rainfall $($in $m\frac{m}{h})$ for a return period of $11$ years of a catchment having $30$

minutes time of concentration.

ii$.$ design storm duration $($in min $)$ for $40m\frac{m}{h}$ intensity and $30-$year return period.

Remember to continuously explain and motivate what you do$,$ in the report. Describe the procedures

followed in a logical sequence.

Each group must submit one report for the assignment. The report must cover, but not limited to the

following aspects: Introduction $($background$,$ investigation problems, questions, aim & objectives$)$;

Methodology; Results & Discussion; Conclusion & Recommendation; References; Appendix.
