$18-6($OBJECTIVE $18-3)$ Evaluate the following statement by an auditor concerning the tests of receipt from customers: $$Most customers pay cash but some request for a monthly credit. Most pay on scheduled but approximately $5$ percent do not pay on time due to various reasons. I find the best approach is to select a random month and check if such a pattern arises. As a part of the monthly test, I also request customers who owe money, and those who have large purchases from the client, to confirm the balance due at year end. I think this is sufficient audit work for the planning stage. More substantive work will need to be performed at year end audit.$$
