This job would be at the same rate of pay as she got as a cake designer. Pye refused saying that she would only work as a cake designer. Her boss then told her to come to the office where he paid her salary in full until the end of the month and then told her that her services were no longer needed and that her employment at Royal Bakery was finished.
The next day, Cherie was hired by Victoria Bakery. A term of Cheries employment contract with Royal prohibited her from working at any other bakery for five years. She had completely forgotten about this term. Cherie sued Royal for wrongful dismissal.
