1. Consider a program setting with which you are familiar. You might think of the Financial Affairs Office of your college, a hospital laboratory, or a preschool center. Think of some survey items that the participants would be competent to answer and some that require specialized training to answer and thus should not be addressed to participants.

2. Think of some evaluation issues that can only be answered using interviews and some that can be answered best by survey items with set answer options (i.e., agree strongly through disagree strongly). How do these two sets of questions differ?
