A single phase controlled rectifier bridge consists of one SCR and three diodes as shown in figure (3.1). Sketch the output voltage and current waveform including the separate conducting device waveforms for a firing angle α of the SCR and hence obtain an expression for the average output voltage under the assumption of continuous current. For an ac source voltage of 230V, 50Hz and firing angle of 45°, find the average output current and power delivered to the battery in case load consists of R=5Ω and large inductance and E=100V.

Hint: (Battery E is the same as E for SEDC motor.)
