Mr. Miller has asked me to speak to you this afternoon about the advantages and disadvantages of using gasoline that contains ethanol in engines of farm equipment. I will talk for about five minutes and then I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have. The abundance of corn and the price of gasoline have made ethanol seem like the obvious solution to the energy crisis. However, when we look deeper into the issue, we find that ethanol has many flaws that possibly lower its value as a fuel alterna- tive.
