The purpose of the Life Insurance Management System (LIMS) is to provide life insurance to individuals. Initially, applicants are required to fill out an insurance application. They submit their life insurance application which includes their signed HIPAA-compliant consent form, types of life insurance, driver information, and previous medical history, accident, and insurance claims in the last six years to the LIMS. The insurance agent contacts the listed doctors offices and obtains medical records. The agent determines the best policy for the type of life insurance and level of coverage desired and gives the applicant a copy of the insurance policy proposal and premium quote. The premium of the life insurance depends on the types of life insurance, as well as applicant age, gender, and health. If the applicant accepts, he or she pays the initial premium and is issued both the policy and an insurance coverage statement. The client information is now stored. Periodically, a premium notice is generated, which - along with policy coverage changes - is sent to the client, who responds by sending in a premium after which new insurance coverage statements are issued. LIMS generates a periodic management report on the total revenue and expenses and client list for the agent on the total revenue and expenses.
