Some factors are crucial in deciding the location of the plant while some other factors are less important. 2. In planned economy, Government people plays an important role on the location of industry. In India, their people Government follows the policy of balanced regional growth of the country which is very important from the point of view of defense and social problems like slum, disparity of income and wealth and optimum use of resources. In order to implement this policy. 3. Transportation costs depend mainly on the weight carried and the distance to be covered. In some industries, weight of the raw material is much higher than that of finished product. e.g. in a weight losing industry like sugar manufacturing four to five tons of sugarcanes have to be carried per ton of sugar. 4. Every business firm requires every type of business information regarding the position of labor, market, raw materials and finished goods and this facility is available only when communication facilities are there.
