4. Chapter 11 discusses the many functions of Human Resource Management. As future leaders,it is important to understand these different functions and the manner in which they support the daily functions of all managers in the organization. Some of the HR functions will be done solely byHR (for example benefits and compensation) while other functions of HR may be joint efforts with managers in the company (for example performance appraisals are typically done by your supervisor or manager, but your supervisor or manager probably has been trained through HR on how to execute an effective performance appraisal and provided with a template to use).

Take some of the functions in HR and discuss whether you think that function would be done solely by HR or in conjunction with managers throughout the organization. Give examples to support your thoughts.
