1. If you have never worked with ASCII or binary codes before, there are several easy-to-use conversion tools on the Web that can help you get started. Use your favorite search engine to look for such tools. (For example, use ASCII to binary conversion or convert ASCII to binary as your search phrase.) Explore some of the conversion tools you find. You can use these tools to convert ordinary text into ASCII codes or binary numbers. Come up with a simple phrase; then convert it into binary code. Then use the encryption technique described in the chapter to encrypt it. Give your encoded binary code message to a classmate and see if she can convert the encoded message back into text.

Perform research on one layer of the OSI model. Focus your research on how the layer affects VPNs. Put your findings in a brief report, to be shared with the class
