1/ In the Web Links section, I've made available an article on the question of whether a woman who is pregnant with twins should be allowed to abort one. It seems like a good topic for discussion when we're contrasting the principle-based nature of Kant's ethics with the results-based nature of Utilitarianism. Should abortion be available in such a case?

2/ The Utilitarians, including Mill and the contemporary Utilitarian Peter Singer, have told us that it's not just humans who have moral stature but, at least to an extent, "the whole sentient creation..." (Mill on p. 99 in your textbook).Singer has even written a book titledAnimal Liberation.
