1. Interview a person that would be considered old, old-old or oldest - (60 years of age or older). This may be a family member, friend or acquaintance. If you do not know a person in this age range that you can call, please email your course instructor and they will arrange a time to call you or have someone call you (in that age range) and you can complete the assignment with them.

2. Share with them the issues that your reading identifies as areas of need for this population: In-Home Care and Assistance Services, Residential Care and Assisted Living, Senior Centers / Day Activity Centers, Hospice, Health Care and Prescription Drugs, Decline in Private Pensions, Transportation, Elder Abuse, Loss and Grief, Finding Meaning in Later Life, Addiction, etc.

3 It will be a good idea for you to read the readings on aging prior to interviewing this individual so you're able to explain the issues.

Explore these issues with the individual and then ask them what 3 issues they feel have the greatest impact on them?

Discuss with them why they chose the issues they chose.

4. Write a summary of your conversation with the individual including:

Identify 2 additional issues, from the list above, that You feel should be a priority in our community for this population.
