And to be honest, I hadn't given much thought about how a television adaptation would take creative liberties with an autobiographic piece. While we may recognise that dramatizations are fictional depictions of reality, we still assume that these images hold some level of factual truth. Perhaps they do, and perhaps they don't. Regardless, I intend to highlight several key points in Kerman's novel so that you, the audience, can identify the differences between fact and fiction
