1. Looking at your work or professional experience, identify two scenarios (one for individual performance and one for organisational performance) that could have been improved through collaboration. Describe what happened and how collaboration could have improved each situation (no more than 150 words for each one). Organisational: Our team was tasked to submit a series of documents for regulatory submission in hard copy format with original documents. Minor errors could result to weeks of approval setback. Despite it being a team effort, the lowest-ranking persons were assigned to do the task which resulted in several errors which could have been avoided if the team actively participated and contributed additional scrutinising eyes to avoid the errors and subsequent rejection of the submission. Individual: I was assigned to negotiate with a client that had several decision-makers located in different areas. Since the client was within my territory of assignment, I only transacted with a single decision-maker even though other decision-makers were assigned to a different person of our team. Due to my lack of coordination, the client received the impression that the team was disorganised and decided to pursue partnerships with a different business. This cost the team possible earnings if only collaboration was done. 4.
