1. Schedule an appointment for a written exam or a driving test on the DMV website.

2. Wait a week or more for your appointment while also calling a day off from work to attend the appointment since the DMV is only open on weekdays and most people have weekends off.

3. Take time to travel to the DMV facility to take the written exam in person.

4. The DMV will issue a permit if the written test is passed.

5. Schedule an appointment for the road test

6. Wait a substantial time (sometimes months) for the road test date.

7. The DMV will grant a license if the driving exam is passed.

8. And if failed the exam, repeat steps 5-7 and wait another lengthy period.
