1. Problem Definition, Analysis and Corrective Action - we will use your product or service research throughout the semester to explore tools to make business management decisions. Research product and or service recalls that have created problems for customers. Please note some of these recalls may have only irritated customers while others may have caused serious injury or even death. This assignment requires that you perform a keyword search. Please follow these steps to develop your research. 1. Your initial keyword word will involve terms such as defects, recalls, product flaws, contaminated food, or cosmetics for example. 2. Next choose an area of personal interest such as sports equipment, medicine, medical testing, physical therapy, medical devices, recreation devices, transportation, toys, and energy systems to name a few. 3. Develop a string of keywords to perform a key word search, for example, defect biomedical devices recall 2015. 4. Next use these keywords in combination will help identify various articles and sites that describe problems with various products or services. 5. Do not include Apple or Android products video games or Takata air bags. 6. You must be very specific regarding the product or service that was recalled by giving the brand name and model number. 7. Be sure to provide a complete APA format reference, author, title, name of article, date not just the URL. 8. Is the data source primary or secondary data? 9. Examples: defective tires, defective hockey equipment, contaminated lettuce 2015 etc. Reason for Recall: Details of Recall - Number of units recalled, project cost of recall, any data on lost market share etc
