1. Shells Two spherical conducting shells have non-negligible thickness. Shell S, carries a net charge of +Q where Q > 0. Shell S2 carries a net charge of -3Q. S, is inside S2 but is off center. Also, a point charge +Q is fixed in place inside S, but, again, is off center. The system is in electrostatic equilibrium. See the figure below.
