1. Source Evaluation.

• This first task prepares you for the upcoming writing task in this assignment. To get a better understanding of a topic, you will need to read around the subject, and be critical of the information. Therefore, one of the skills emphasized in this course is having the ability to find relevant and reliable sources of information in English, and to be able to use them in your work.
• First,pick an essay topic of interest listed in Task 3 below. Next,close read the text from Solid Gold 1 assigned to that essay topic. Then,start looking for additional sources in English that will help you express and support your ideas on the topic. Finally, evaluate the credibility of the source using the guidelines listed in Study Guide 1.
• Follow the guidelines in Study Guide 1 on how: to navigate and find digital sources, evaluate their credibility and relevance, and write a source critical discussion.

Include the following in writing

• A brief, short critical discussion of the additional source that you plan to use in Task 3: Discussion Essay.
• Explain how credible the source is, measured against the criteria available in Study Guide 1:Date, Relevance, Author, Evidence, and Purpose
