For the building structure presented in figure 1, you are required to:
(a) Calculate permanent actions for columns A, B and E, at section 1 and
section 2 for the office building from figure 1.
Beams and columns are made by concrete with a density of 2400kgm3.
Assume for this exercise that:
cross section for beams is 250550mm,
cross section for columns is 450450mm,
concrete floor height is 200mm.
(b) Find the value of combinations of permanent and imposed actions for
ultimate limit state for columns A, B and E, at sections 1 and 2. Assume for
this calculation that for roof the type of activity/occupancy is "R2(i) Structural
elements ?.
