2. In the drop-down box, select "Current Tax Code 2012"

3. You can now make any change you wish to the old tax code. You can change tax brackets, tax rates, income brackets, and a few other options listed at the bottom.

4. At the bottom on the right the system tracks whether you are adding or cutting to the federal deficit. Your goal is to cut the deficit by at least 20%.

5. After you have created your plan, you must submit two things. First, take a screenshot of the entire page so that I can see what you changed. Second, Explain a clear explanation 300 words as to why you made those changes and why you think those would be the best changes.

NOTE 1: The tax rates, law, and deficit shown on the website for this activity are not accurate and date back to 2012. The point of this exercise is to visualize the overall impact of tax policy decisions on the federal deficit. Therefore, the year is not important.
