1 Watch the video below. When the problem first comes up on your screen, stop the recording and see if you can write the null and alternative hypotheses on your own. Label which hypothesis is the "claim" being tested. If you don't understan this, watch the section 7.1 videos in Canvas (Click on Modules, then on the 1st link under Chapter 7. Scroll down and you will see the videos). After you write the hypotheses, watch the rest of the video. See if you got the hypotheses right. Correct yours if they were wrong. Follow along with the video example to understand how to do the problem.

Note: For the Video above, using rejection regions, assume the standard deviation of the population is given (though the video does not tell you this). Since we are assuming the standard deviation of the population is given, we will use a Z-Test in the video.

#2 Watch the video below. There are 4 criteria to check in order to decide if you need a Z-Test or a T-Test. Understand the criteria and how to document them.

POSTING ASSIGNMENT

#3 Post a reply to this discussion board with any comments and questions you have about hypothesis testing and criteria checking. Try to answer some of your classmates' questions if you can. Discuss this problem as if you were in a group in a classroom. Your grade is determined by your positive participation in the discussion regarding the topic. As long as you do the assignment, there is no minimum or maximum amount of participation, but you should make a positive contribution regarding the academic topic.
