1. With data from the CES 2011 short2 file, recode the variable feelings towards gays and lesbians (PES11_16) into 5 categories, ranging from dislike to like.

2. Generate a contingency table (cross-tabulation) with percentages, chi-squared andstrength of association statistics for this recoded variable of feelings towards gays andlesbians and province of residence (PROVINCE11). Comment the results of this table.

3. Run a linear regression model with the original (cleaned) feelings towards gays and lesbians (PES11_16) as the dependent variable, with province of residence(PROVINCE11) and level of education (CPS11_79) as the independent variables

Include the following statistics:1. Correlation coefficients for each pair of variables2. Model fit statistics (R2)3. Unstandardized regression coefficients

4. Diagnostic statistics:1. Frequency distribution of feelings towards gays and lesbians (PES11_16)2. Histogram of standardized residuals3. Range of standardized residuals from model4. Create a table with the results of this model (containing unstandardized regression coefficients and their p-values; R2statistic). Comment the results of this table and the model diagnostics.
